Delonis Shelter: We help on the 5th Tuesday (of any month that has one) by preparing and serving a meal to the homeless and/or hungry. Monthly Special Gifts Offering: We take this opportunity to give something extra each month to special needs such as St. Peter's church in Tecumseh to support their program of feeding migrant workers, or Food Gatherers, which combats hunger in SE Michigan, or international relief and development organizations. Preemie Hats and Quilts: We knit tiny hats and make tiny quilts for those that start out life too early, meeting once a month to knit, share techniques, and chat. This ministry has grown to include contributors from all around the state. The items are delivered to St. Joseph Hospital Neonatal unit. Crop Walk: Our members participate in the annual Saline Area Crop Walk to raise money for the hungry. Saline Area Social Services: SASS has a special place in our hearts. Don Dersnah, our Deacon, is the director of SASS and we support his efforts by providing holiday meal baskets, food and toiletry drives and monetary donations throughout the year.
Angel Food Ministries: This ministry distributes high-quality groceries at reduced prices once a month to anyone who orders them. For more info, click here. Appalachia Service Trip: We are currently fund-raising and planning for a September, 2010 service trip to raise roofs and fix homes in Appalachia through the Appalachia Service Project. Special Meals: Our members prepare and serve meals at senior centers around Saline. Soldier Packages: With the help of congregational donors and youth-group workers, we put together care packages for requested soldiers so they know they are cared for and appreciated. |

Seeds of Hope Garden: In 2009 we launched an annual (seasonal) garden on our site to provide fresh, organic produce to low-income people through a local food bank and distributor, Food Gatherers. The entire output of the garden was over 600 lbs our first year.
