Random Acts of Kindness
During November - as Thanksgiving approaches - Holy Faith is surprising frontline workers in our community with gifts of gratitude for their service which has entailed extra risk during the coronavirus. These include:
Thanks go to Jim Mangi, Elaine Osterbur, Gail Graham, and Dan McGraw who have been coordinating these expressions of gratitude and to Holy Faith members for their input about who should be thanked. Still to be thanked: the healthcare workers at the UM clinic and Saline restaurant workers.
These efforts have been funded by a donation made by our Episcopal Bishop Bonnie Perry, combined with donations from several individual parishioners..
- Surprised Busch's Grocery Store with a big basket of chocolates, nuts, and other snacks for the staff break room.
- Sent Zingerman's boxed lunches to Saline Area Social Service staff and volunteers who have been working overtime since mid-March to meet the increasing food needs in Saline.
- Dan McGraw and Pastor Andrea delivered pastries from the Enchanted Oven to the Saline Police and Fire Departments. Parishioner Kurt Schneider was on duty at the firehouse when they stopped by. Amber Wardia, proprietor of Saline's Enchanted Oven, took the time to assemble beautiful baskets with a note inside each that read "Thanks for being essentially awesome."
